How to Grab Their Attention  with your Elevator Speech?

May 26th 2010 20:29
An elevator speech is a concise  well crafted verbal snippet  that  memorably introduces you, that should show  your uniqueness and  highlights  the benefits you deliver.

It's  used in situations where you are meeting a lot of people and probably not spending a great deal of time with any one of them. So you have to strike them with your clear and focused information about you and your service

The ideal length of an Elevator Speech usually  as few as 15-30 seconds.  So If you spend the first 30 seconds labeling yourself and listing your credentials, or going into a technical  reciting of your service, you will be faced with nothing more than a big fat yawn.

Don't get caught in  labeling yourself. Labels can make look insecure and even  as desperate Personwho hide behind his labes .Don't provide the benefits the listener is looking for.

Emotions, Emotions,Emotions

Take the time to develop a passionate elevator speech that will engage your listeners to want to hear more. Make consumers to feel and act upon their emotions. Combine  inspiring and thought-provoking emotions with exceptional benefits. The best message is that which ties in two very strong emotions, pride and love, those two emotions usually successful at making the buyer eager to receive the benefits.

Brain storm your thoughts and list down benefits your customor  receive from working with you or buying from you,and find at least three strong emotions that you can bond to each one, and use those words and phrases in your benefit statement. And keep it positive! No fear should attached.

Practice, Practice, Practice

Good Elevator Speech must sound effortless, conversational, and natural ,thats why once you finish writing  your elevator  practice it over and over until it's as natural as stating your name.

Let's look for example, that fulfills what we talked about so far

" Hi, my name is Betty Smith. I'm responsible for this country's future.
(Pause) I'm a teacher! I love shaping the minds of the next generation, but I'm also interested in getting into corporate training." instead of saying:
"Hi, my name is Betty Smith. Im a teacher with a degree in _____________________. I'm trying to get into corporate training.

Confidence plus smile =killer speech

When it comes to the moment you say your speech  be friendly , confident, and enthusiastic. Keep smiling naturally .Say it with a strong, firm voice.

Those  were few  steps known  to deliver  best results  by setting more meetings and receiving additional sales.

Finally I would love to hear from you ...did you ever find your self in  situations where you must be persuative to get what you want and what do techneques usually works for you?
