I just watched this TV show about making money on youtube. Basically you can make money by two ways using their partner program or by using YouTube or advertize to you own business
Through their partner program,Youtube is offering Monetization of your video using Google Adsense. What does this means ? Means if you are used to upload videos on Youtube then now can earn from those YouTube videos.
During Chad Hurley speech at World Economic Forum in Davos Mr. Hurley said that they are getting audience that is large enough to give them an opportunity to support and foster creativity through sharing revenue with their users.
the partner program is available on this link and it's described as "a program that we've created to recognize and reward the creativity of the YouTube community. A select group of YouTube members has been invited to participate in this revenue-sharing program and to help us evaluate whether it works for the YouTube community and advertisers."
To become a partner, you need to meet these criteria:
-You create original videos suitable for online streaming.
-You own the copyrights and distribution rights for all audio and video content that you upload -- no exceptions.
-You regularly upload videos that are viewed by thousands of YouTube users
for the last criteria you need
make it short video because the ads will be at the end of the video and you son't want viewer to miss that
make sure it is entertaining
tags use as many as you can , and make them good ,because google needs those tags to help people find your videos and also to help google to know what kind of ads are appropiate to your video,,,but be careful not to trick people by putting a unrelavant tags
It is also important that you think about and examine the content of your video, especially if you are planning on doing a comedy video.study what is popular on YouTube, and don't forget that a large number of people visit YouTube for entertainment. Many of those individuals are from different races, sexes, and religions. You will want to be cautious of offending any of your viewers, intentionally or not.
allow automatic video response when you upload videos because it is good to have as many video response as posible as every video response is a link back your video ,also google can use the words in the comments as tags

For quite awhile, youtubers embedded sponsor ads into their videos, as well as mentioning them. this give you a great aportunity to expand your business attract more visitors to your website and even advertize other people business in exchange of a certain amount of fee
This is really a great news for those who regularly upload videos on youtube. But the important thing which is to be seen is that, it may result into the inflow of more useless videos on youtube.
and at the end it is not a way to get rich , because the bigest share is for google and youtube ,after all they offered this service for free ,and it is rarely people clicks on the ads as majority just want to watch a good video ang if they clicks in any ads all what you get are pennies
